time to upgrade car....

Right now i have a 2003 dolphin grey 1.8t with about 85000 miles. I'm going to sell it and look for a newer a4. Right now there is 3 cars that i cant decide on. One is a 2005 usp white 1.8t with 58,xxx miles, the other is a 2005 dolphin grey avant 1.8t usp with 43,xxx miles, the last one is B7 quartz grey 2.0t with 38,xxx miles. All these cars are about the same price, same used car place and 6-speed manuals. Right now im leaning towards the avant, the white usp is super clean, b7 is just newer and a little bit bigger engine. any input would be great.

i think the white usp would be the nicest but it has alot of miles
i dont think the b7 is as nice as the b6 but it has low miles and should have a decent amount of time left on the warranty

I personally love a white usp but the b7 will have the warranty. For the same price I would definitely go newest.

No way.. the 2.0t isn't faster than my 3.0.. I have raced the two next to each other.. and they come neck to neck in the finish, but mine seems to pull through and win

Avant if you need the space or prefer the style... otherwise you're better off to go with the newer one on grounds of warranty and resale. Which, after September, will plummet anyways so buy the one you figure fits in with your lifestyle best.

What matters more...looks or performance?

A USP looks a lot better than a standard (non S-Line) B7. You'd have to throw a few grand in mods to have the B7 turn as many heads. But...the B7 performs a lot better than a USP stock and chipped. So you'd have to spend a few grand on mods to make the USP perform better.

thanks for the advice guys. i thought for sure more people would say the avant. lifestyle it might fit better, since i snowboard and mountain bike alot, which means a lot of driving, so the extra room might help a lot. I think this weekend i will test drive a 2.0t and see how much more peppy it feels. if it doesn't impress me much, im really not against putting a BT in the 1.8t. we shall see. one more thing are usp avants that rare? how much would you pay for one?

In fact USP avants are quite rare! i have a regular avant but only dream of an USP one. anyhow the avant is the perfect car for snowboarding, i have taken mine up for the past 2 years to the mountain and couldnt be more happy with the quality of quattro and the room that it has!

B7 2.0, if the price is the same. The other two has pretty high mileage and not before long you will be finding yourself in the same situation. At least with the car with the least miles, you will feel comfortable knowing that you know what's been done to it from 38K on.

I meant compared to the 1.8t, and if it's chipped probably faster than the 3.0 as well depending on the driver.
