    Car pulling when braking....

Any idea what this is about, If I am braking my car really pulls off to a side.... and I have a sound coming from the front, when slowing down from around 40mph...like a whining noise....could that be a wheel bearing?

    Re: Car pulling when braking....

Maybe one of you calipers is not applying much pressure when breaking. Drive around hard for a lil bit and feel the wheels near the breaks and see if there the same temp...

    Re: Car pulling when braking....

/\ Exactly. but most likely the cause would a caliper sticking (rather than not applying enough pressure) But definetly, check the temp of each!

    Re: Car pulling when braking....

Still pulling when braking. No idea about that as of right now.

Now my other question is. My steering wheel shakes while driving, badly. I got an alignment done, and also all 4 wheels rebalanced, what now ?

    Re: Car pulling when braking....

if it is pulling while braking then it is defently your brakes that causes that.

Is it only the steering that is shaking or do you also feel in the carbin?? if you feel the carbin also is shaking, then it is your wheels that need to be rebalanced. my advice to you go to a dealer where they only dealing with ROAD BALANCE, they will know exatly what the problem is, and will help you out.

Hmm. Yeah, trying to avoid the dealer. I hate getting ripped.

And yes it is only the steering wheel. Just spent 60 bucks having all the wheels rebalanced....

    Re: Car pulling when braking....

You might need new pads and/or rotors. If the pulling is only there when braking then it will probably be one of these things.

Does the shaking start at a certain speed? Also do you hear any noises while making 90degree left or right turns?

He wasn't saying go to an Audi dealer persay... but a reputable shop that does Hunter Roadforce balancing of wheels and tires. It is one of the best machines to get it right the first time. If anything you could bring it into one of those shops and have them check one front to see if it was done correctly. I also sounds like it is time for some new brakes if it is pulling and whinning while braking... good luck

No noises, and the shaking seems to be at any speed. At times I look at the wheel, and it isnt shaking though....

Does the car only pulls when you are breaking hard at a speed of over 100km? If yes you need to change your sunspension

Wheels rebalanced at audi today, they said whoever did them last were morons and each wheel was 30g off. So great, wasted money. Yay.

Thread revival...did balancing the wheels cure the pulling issue? I'm having same issue. I need rear rotors which I haven't installed yet, butt I can't imagine the rear brakes affecting the car so much that's is pulling me to the right. I'm going to try bleeding system as suggested previously and rotating tires..since I'm lowered and haven't rotated tires in awhile...anyone else have this issue?

    Issues I've found that can cause shakes and pulling to one side in my own cars;
    -wheel balance issue
    -Alignment
    -Ball joints gone bad
    -Tires have a bulge growing
    -Bent axle
    -Warped rotors
    -Caliper not applying enough pressure
    -Caliper applying too much pressure
