Replacement Piston?

As the title says, I need a replacement piston (OEM). Anyone have a decent source/have a used good condition stocker? The stealership quoted me $325. The number two cylinder on my car lost a chunk of exhaust valve, the spark plug electrode is missing (I think this is the culprit) and the piston's coating is covered with ceramic dust and the edge of the piston's (exhaust side but amusingly opposite of the broken exhaust valve) coating is worn and impregnated with ceramic dust.

I'm not 100% sure what happened since the timing on the engine was fine. The engine has about 37K on it and was 100% stock internals. The car has a K04 w/revo tune and was running fine and then all of a sudden started to misfire. After messing around with the coil packs, checking the injectors real quick, I pulled the plug and low and behold its missing the center electrode. I checked the compression and it must have gone away with the electrode. I pulled the front of the car off, verified the timing was fine (cyl. #1 TDC and the timing mark on the cam was dead on, and after pulling the head it was fine). At this point I need to just get the car back on the street and then can figure out what happened.

I have stock pistons with 48K on them if you need them. What spark plugs were you using at the time?

I was using a set of AC Delco copper plugs that the auto parts store crossed from the NGK BKR7E's. I was a bit hesitant to use them but I tried every auto parts store in the area and couldn't find anything else. I guess I won't be using them again .

NGK, Bosch or Denso only IMO. I can understand you just wanted to get it done but sometimes waiting for the right part is the way to go in the end, and in your case it is. Just order 2 sets online ahead of time and you have no worries for miles to come. Sorry to hear you had to go through this. I am surprised this happened with a copper plug though. AC Delco must be shit.

Funny thing is, I was talking to someone who volunteers at the fire company I work at who works at NAPA (who is going to stock the plugs for me) and he is saying they don't list any cross between NGK and Delco but carry both lines. Guess the other store used a different listing for the cross

i know another guy who had autolite's in his b5 and the electrode fell out and destroyed his motor, and now this guy with ac delco, im a firm beliver in NGK and Bosch.
