New camera with a few new pics ( im such a pic whore )

Well i picked up a Sony Alpha A200 with a 18-70mm lens and some filters on monday, so heres some newbie pics with some adjustments in photoshop i suck at the moment with DSLR's :( but anyways here ya go.













anyways, by all means, if anyone out there is good at photography please critique the pics and give me some tips, anything is helpful, oh and sorry for the large pics, my screen is 24" widescreen so they all look small for me, but may be kinda big for others, my bad, sorry, peace

IMO#1 looks good, #2,3,&4, there's too much ground on the plane. but on #5, the shade of the car some what fills it up. and #6, it seems you focused on the wheels, but the front end is on awkward angle...and the space above the car and bottom of the car is almost the same, so the object is kinda floating right in the middle on the picture...if you were closer and had better angle it would come out better...camera being more toward front and closer pointing the wheels...againIMO...haha
Oh, and on #4 and 5, white is too white and black is too black. If you takes pictures outside when it's very sunny you should get a polarized filter. It helps to reduce the direct sun light, so you can get more bluer sky and highlights come out more natural, not too white.
How do you like Sony DSRL? I've never tried them...

Anyway, I wish my car had straight pipes like yours...mine's 00 C5, and does anyone know if I can fit rear bumper and exhaust from later model C5's?

i think it will really set off the silver accents if you clear out the amber. will go well with the colour of your wheels and the mirror covers and such. dooo it

thanks guys, and yeah i may do clear corners, but im not sure yet. and VJ - im waiting for my center caps to come in, they were all out of them at the time.

Hey Frank I like what ever you did to your fron brake caliper. I've throught about painting mine silver but thr thought of cleaning and preping them before painting must be a nightmare. Did you paint them while mounted on the disk? I also dig the wheel metal air valves. It drives me nuts when some folks blow 2K on a set of wheels and finish them with plain black rubber air valves aagghhh!!! :-D

Hey thanks man, and to be honest, it took maybe 5 mins a brake to clean them, and yes i left them mounted, and sprayed the brake dust cleaner, clean it off a bit with a rag, and put to coats of silver, i did all 4 wheels in about 3 hours. and yeah i hear ya, i hate the rubber valves!

I love it, clean and tasteful, but defintiely clear those corners. I never realized how much I disliked that little piece of amber until I removed it.
