FYI i am not an audio guy so my knowledge is limited....got my system installed last week and the guy couldn't hook up the funk switch to the system. He said that none of the 5 wires sticking from the switch share a connection which he said he needs....he told me that the switch just turned something on and then off doesn't maintain the ON function....what he did was run a wire from the amp to a switch under the dash.....you guys got any ideas on how to install the funk switch???

    Re: funk switch/sub installation

I hate to tell you but he's pretty correct about that. He has to be able to keep the circuit closed to provide constant power to the amp. With that funk switch there's no way it can create the contact so that it can stay closed unless you hold the funk switch down. Think of an on/off switch or light switch; he needs to create a constant connection. If you can go to Lowe's or Home Depot or somewhere and find a switch, maybe like a fan switch or something of that nature that can create a constant connection that you can dismantle and connect to with the funk switch in-line on the way to the amp. Hope that helps.
