Driver side turbo noise quickie question.

So I have been waiting for the moment my turbo let's go because it has been whining for the past 10k miles. I managed to drop the downpipe and checked the shaft play on that side and it didn't seem bad at all. Weird thing is that there is also some oil around the IC hose on the driver side as well.

I swapped the DV's from one side to the other to see if it would make the noise and it's still driver side.

Are there any other things I should check before I commit to ripping the engine out to swap el turbos? Also... Can't i just wait until is smokes out back?

You could wait, but if and when they blow they'll take out more than just the turbos. Are the 710ns in good shape?

I'm guessing they are since switching them from one side to the other doesn't affect the noise level. I think the noise comes up after a few lbs of boost. I don't have a boost gauge but during the initial windup it sounds fine (can't hear anything practically, just the buildup of air rushing) and then the whine starts up.

my screaming turbo don't scream until over 15psi and about 4k rpm. i'm wondering if it might be a boost leak, but its a pretty primal noise, i always assumed it would make noise more often than that though.

That's what I'm thinking that it might be a hosed... hose... since my driver side intercooler hose has oil around it.

Is it more of a whine and supercharged noise than a dentist drill. I have found oil three times in the F-Pipe. I'm not sure it is blowing, I feel like the pitch of the noise is more of an acoustic air noise, not tons of shaft play. Any updates on this?
