CV Joint Sounding Click while going STRAIGHT?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im hearing a click at low speeds from the right side. I was trying to correct some other problem by replacing the driver side CV, and right after it sounded like the right side was clicking so i replaced that one, however its still doing it. It will never do it on hard turns, just straight and when it clicks i feel the car shake just a little.. any thoughts?

check for rocks/ metal objects in the tire, check your brakes make sure you have nothing in the brakes, ect..

Jack up the car and spin the wheel, still click?

Re: CV Joint Sounding Click while going STRAIGHT?

Yeah thats what i thought, but both of my axles are brand new. I did the driver, then after doing a brake/gas combination at low speeds to try and diagnose some other problem, the right side clicked so i did the right side, but now the right side is still clicking. (unless i happen to hear it wrong and the drivers side i bought was defective but it really sounds like right side to me)

It might be the wheel bearings if axles have already been replaced.

Did you have the car sittiing on the bearing without the axle in? That will ruin the bearing if you do

im getting this too, im hoping its not an axle, does it kinda feel like the cars almost running over itself when you turn at low speed?

Re: CV Joint Sounding Click while going STRAIGHT?

Well it never happens to me when im turning, only going straight. And yeah i guess you could describe it that way it just feels like somethings making it jerk just slightly. I was hoping it was the axle haha.. they are pretty easy to replace, if youve done the control arms you could do an axle.
