i need to pick an exhaust....

i have a 2001 audi a4 1.8t and just recently got the APR chip. now i want to get exhaust but dont what i should get....... any ideas????

Borla..I have on on my car and I enjoy it very much.

It all depends on what kind of sound you want. Just search youtube for sound clips and figure out which on you want. You do not need an exhaust bigger then 2.5" for just a chip.

I should have edited the first 30 or so seconds on the 2nd vid but....you get the idea. I also have an ATP exhaust manifold, and a few other odds and ends though so it may sound a little different without, I'm not sure.

I would go with the borla i just got it 3 weeks ago and it sounds perfect prolly the loudest on a 1.8t with a cat i got it at sportcompactonly.com for $649

go custom, i would say get the 034 3" downpipe then go with a 2.5" custom magnaflow from the downpipe back.

If you aren't a successful old head with thousands to blow, i'd say just go custom. You should be able to find an exhaust shop in your area that could throw a custom setup on and use a magnaflow muffler. Shouldnt cost more than 400ish for the whole setup.

400 sounds a bit too cheep, especially if your going DP back (which borla does) I had gotten exhaust quotes for my car custom, and it works out to be pretty much the same price as buying one (if you go all stainless, dont forget you need to buy a muffler and resinator also which would put u around 400) i would stick to Brola beucase you will get something that preforms great and sounds just right

Like i said, if you have money to blow get the expensive ass one, but exhaust shops, in my experience, do a hell of a good job and dont cost as much.

he asked about an exhaust system. the only cat back system borla makes for the B5 is only 2.25" if i'm not mistaken. if you are going to drop the $$, it's silly to just get a marginally larger system, imo. maybe you guys mean just get a borla muffler? the techtonics system comes with a borla muffler...and 2.5" piping.

2.25 is good unless your going BT. I have seen borla exhausts around for 600-700 before. Also the borla comes complete with DP

I vote techtonics which is the borla v1. 2.5" piping with borla mufflers, I have it and it sounds great.

if you're looking to set off car alarms, non-res Milltek ftw.
I have a borla and I like it. but there are some opinions that I should've gone with the larger dia Milltek for my setup (K04 with the works).
if you're planning to go bt, go with the milltek.
