Can you guys reccomend a good all season tire? I live in Phoenix and don't want to have to go through tires every year.

Re: I have S-Line Titanium and need new tires

I had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and liked them. Little noisy and they are Z-rated, but they were good all around tires for my previous Mercedes C 280 Sport. Can't comment too much on the wear cause I only had them 6 months or so.

I'd visit tirerack.com and look at the reviews and ratings, they have a great review process that involves testing and actual reviews from customers

I'd get a summer tire if I lived in Phoenix. Any reason you're looking for an all-season?

It gets really cold in the desert

I run Continental ContiExtreme Contacts. They are a great tire but I have gotten two bubbles in a year. I don't know what to make of it becase they are the first two I ever encountered in 7 different low profile tires I have used in the past for a daily driver. Or it could have just been two really bad pot holes

Re: I have S-Line Titanium and need new tires

i highly recommend Continetial ContiExtremeContact. they're a great deal and perform on par with more expensive all seasons from Perelli and Goodyear. i went from ContiSport2 summer tires to these and once they broke in, i could not notice any loss in handling ability. plus these are quieter and much better in the rain/snow than the ContiSport2's.

    Werd.

I'd perhaps invest money in an alternate set of wheels for the winter and run summer tires for majority of the itme since phoenix gets so hot.

Or get some tires with a higher treadwear rating since you are asking about having your tires last longer.

I have Conti Contisport Contact all season, they are great, sticky tires. My dad has Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical with Carbon Fiber technology, those are amazing tires.

Re: I have S-Line Titanium and need new tires

Unless you're heading up to the ski hills like Sunshine Peaks Resort or Mt. Lemon, etc. I'd recommend getting pure summers for the siping ability during the October rains.

Most pure summer skins are good down to or just above the freezing point (about 2degC) and you only notice the loss in traction if you're pushing them really hard.

That being said, if you're stuck on getting some excellent A/S tyres, the Bridgestone Potenza RE960 A/S (n/m the RE750 comment, they're designed for the STi and not all-rounders) should be the ones to take the cake for you. Especially considering how much concrete you likely drive on.

I drove the Pilot Sport Alpins and found them to be absolute garbage in snow and not many people here are having luck with the Pirelli P6s if they drive hard.

But really, do follow the suggestion to hit up tirerack.com and see their customer reviews.

I've driven on summer tires in sub-zero temps on dry roads many times and its really not a problem. The only time I ever had any issues was with snow or ice on the ground. I dont think the rare case of winter driving the OP will experience warrants an all-season. I had Kumho Ecsta SPTs on my old car and was very happy w/ them.

Re: I have S-Line Titanium and need new tires

Because summer tires are a softer compound and will burn the fuck off my car in the summer. Plus in the winter I plan on going up North where there is snow and riding summers in snow is like death on wheels.

Re: I have S-Line Titanium and need new tires

I run summers in the summer and winters in the winter! I live in MN and have some crazy weather. Conti's tend to suck and bubble, their warratny sucks to so don't try and trade them in! I have mich ps2 for my summers and i had x-ice for winter but now i might go blizzacks!

This isn't true. An all season tire is a softer compound than a summer tire.

Sure, an all-season may last longer than a summer tire but that is because summers are usually more performance oriented with treadwear not being a priority. That being said, you can find summer tires with very respectable treadwwear ratings out there - the Kumho Ecsta SPTs being one example. The difference in grip and handling on an all season and a summer tire is HUGE! Please get summer tires because I cant and I wish i could.

get some Falken Azenis RT-615. They're one of the most stickiest summer tires with a decent price

i can get them for 129 each

    yup

My last AWD car (Jaguar X-Type) had blizzaks for winter and Pirelli PZero Neros for summer on 17" and 18" wheels respectively.

My A4 has these P6 M+Ss as OEMs - not as sticky as the PZero Nero, but a decent all-around tire that I've had let go on me a time or two on dry summer pavement.

Here in MN, one of the local Audi dealers had all their RS4s on Pirelli PZero Rossos, but don't know if that was OEM.

hey, you should definitely check out BFG super sport a/s, i think they're pretty new but they definitely stick better than regular all seasons and they're cheap too. check them out on tirerack and try America's Tire Co. or their other store since they give $50 rebate on a set of four already cheap tires.
