    Why do people buy Audi's?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am in the process of writing a letter to include, along with my resume, to Pacific Audi in hopes of landing a spot on there sales team... The only thing is im stumped.... My question to you guys is; why buy an Audi?? I mean buying a car isn't hard at all, you walk into a dealer, choose a color, pick the options, sign some papers, and walk out with fresh keys and some shiny wheels... Its that simple... So why buy an Audi, why when every car manufacture has advertising saying; "High MPG, FUEL EFFICIENT, SAFE!, DISCOUNTS!! NO ONE TURNED DOWN!!" Why not goto one of those guys vs. audi?

Please help, and feel free to write what ever... Ill take anything that will add a kick to my paper!

    Thanks!

In all seriousiness I could have gone with BMW or any other car but what attracted me the most is that they have built excellent solid cars. Yes they do have some quarks to it but they are also far and few where I live and I enjoy that. Not because I'm prick or anything but my car does stand out and I like that. I have had mine for 5 years and I haven't had many problems knock on wood. It will be the car I either die in or it will die with me.

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

You want to be a car salesman? Let me give you a tip: make it absolutely clear to your potential employer that YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MAKING LOTS OF MONEY. If they ask you why you want to work for them, skip the bullsht "I loooove Audi, I drive one, all my relatives drive one, I know everything about cars" etc. Dealers want salesmen, not enthusiasts. If they ask you the aforementioned question, say "Im looking for a career that makes me a lot of money, and a good car salesman can do that." Only go into why you picked Audi if they ask you. A good salesman that will move a lot of cars for them can do that at any dealership and WILL do that at any dealership. If they think you like Audi's too much and dont care about selling they'll think you just want the job so you can take the S6 on a coffee run every day.

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

Audi far surpasses VW in reliability. True someone could go and buy almost any vehicle and have what they want nowadays, but I for one love the brand. I've always driven Audi's so I know I am biased. That being said I know from first hand experience how safe these cars are.

I've seen on many occasions that people walk away from accidents in these cars. I work in EMS and there are pictures of an accident in our station involving an A4 and a ford taurus. The lady who was driving the taurus was killed unfortunatley, but the driver and passenger of the A4 walked away with out a scratch, both cars were totaled however.

Aside from the safety factor there is the interior, the reliability, and the heritage.

From working at both Audi, VW and BMW dealerships. Audi's reliabilty is best, BMW has problems with suspensions, and VW's seem to like their CELs there was a Jetta that the best techs I knew couldn't turn off the CEL, it sat for close to 3 months without the problem solved.

Audi has a strong racing heritage, from the groupe B rallies to 24 hours at leMans. A lot of their racing technology has been placed into their production cars, from quattro to FSI.

Well, this probably won't help you but Audi resale values suck. So, when I bought my B5 it was IMO the best car I could get for the money.

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

I am an admitted German car snob. When I bought my B6 S4, I was too old for the Jetta GLI (not the new one, but the one before it) and the M3 only has 2 doors. S4 was the logical choice for me since I need the practicality of the saloon. However, I saw an ad for the new Passat CC in CAR Magazine and it looks pretty sharp. But would I really trade my S for that? Probably not, unless an R version was real hot and my baby has a lot more age on her.

But really, see what someone else said. Tell them you are out to make as much money as you can. You want to stack 'em deep and sell for no less than $1000 over MSRP, or for MSRP, but bump the interest rate by 1%. Tell them you will throw in floor mats only to "sweeten" the deal as you tell them the $700 admin fee is unfotunate and you would waive if you could, but it comes from the fat cats at the head office. If they buck, tell them the first wash is on you. But whatever you do, don't be like Mr. Lundergard in Fargo. Only leads to trouble. Good luck.

And yeah, depreciation is horrible, but counter that with a free wax job or polo shirt if they buck.

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

I've never understood 'brand loyalty' purely for brand loyalty's sake. I guess it's like picking a political party and sticking with it. I'm a bit of an anarchist.

    I bought my Audis (B5 S4 and B6 S4 cab.) because:

    1. the way they drove
    2. the way the look
    3. they're somewhat uncommon

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

i've driven audi's since 1996 and at first i need the quattro, but then i realized that there were not that many people who drove audis (at least back then). even still today, i associate MB with rich snobs, i associate BMW with a gazillion of the same black car out on the highway, but i associate Audi with (of course, since i'm in that pool of people) classy unique people who may or may not be wealthy, but they're fun people to be around.

audi' is like being at a party. sure you love to look at the beautiful woman in the little black dress, but it's the one with an unexplainable beauty that catches your eye. because, you're not sure if it's her face, her dress or the way she moves, but more her entire being that draws you to her....and once you're introduced, the conversation is effortless, you're laughing, and having the time of your life.

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

I couldn't afford an EVO and wanted an AWD car that wasn't beat on since I was buying used. MY car isn't in the top 20 of the cars I wanted, but it's practical and pretty fuel efficent. For normal driving I can't complain, but I just wish it were an Evo every time a turn comes up ot theres a nice pig free straight away.

I have a friend who's a European car nut, specifically owns an Audi now after two previous VW's, and he's a car salesman. You wanna know who's offered to take him away from where he works now? Audi, BMW, Smart, Land Rover & VW. You wanna know where he works? For a GMC, Pontiac, and Buick dealer. Guess why...let me tell you right now the only advice you need to take for your cover letter is the post I've quoted above. Maybe throw in some Audi love, but certainly not to the degree you're asking for.

Re: Why do people buy Audi's?

Interior, comfort, smooth ride, AWD/Quattro, German engineering & build quality/corrosion resistance/warranty, features/options galore, typically subtle but classy, fast/moddable in many cases, Audi racing history, there's a plethora of reasons...also varying from driver to driver (A to B'er, car nut etc).

I bought my car because it fits every last little thing i'm looking for in a car right now.
