Anyone seen logs or anything regarding the "smaller brother" of the TIAL GT650 kit? Interesting to see what this smaller kit can do as compared to a pj KO4 or an RS6 setup.

Re: Lets talk about the TIAL S520 kit...

Jonathan has just informed me that there are a few sets of the S520 variants available at the moment. While he didn't say what the pricing is, this was posted on another forum not too long ago:

Boost onset is roughly 1 BAR at 3200 RPM in third gear, and 3200 rpm in 5th and 6th can bring 23 PSI, (whereas the 650's have done 27 psi by 3300 in 6th gear.)

We are expecting RS6-like power from these turbos.
They use a Journal bearing CHRA
    520s us a .45 A/R Turbine Housing, vs. .50 for the 650s.
The hardware kit is the same, and the turbos. Can be upgraded or swapped in the future for the 650s at a favorable cost.

The MSRP is about $4636.56 for the S520 kit. There is a good margin for the wholesalers, and/or first time testers.
This was posted some time ago, so I'm not sure if the "Tester" price is still available.

Re: Lets talk about the TIAL S520 kit...

yeah Johnny basically explained to me his 'smaller' kit was for those who wanted a cost effective option to easily make more power than k04's, but if you are intending to upgrade rods and make big power in the future, go with the bigger kit.

stock bottom end the small kit is a good, cost effective option over k04's.. putting you in a good position for a future upgrade path.

^^^lol! What? I can't discuss something on the public forums? Believe me I know exactly what kit I'd go with.
