    caliper slider stuck

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i was trying to replace my rear pads a rotors today, but one of the sliders on the caliper carrier is stuck. i pulled back the boot, sprayed it down, and tried to beat it loose with a hammer and had no luck. i also tried searching around for some answers, but i came up short.

does anyone have any ideas on how to get the slider out, or do i need to replace the entire carrier?

    thanks

    jeff

    Re: caliper slider stuck

you can try removing the pads and then bolting the caliper back up and then use the caliper as leverage to push it back/out

or remove the boot and get a pair or vice grips between the carrier and the head of the slide pin and beat on that

or if those dont work u can drill a hole in the front side of the carrier and use a screw driver/hammer to back it out from the front
