    Two questions (suspension & brakes)

I have a 99 a4 1.8t quattro of course. I took it to the shop to have a alignment done on it ans they told me the upper passenger side ball joint is shot, so working at a shop myself i told them i will just replace them on my own, and then have them align it. I was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere to get a set of ball joints for it, (I have checked techtonicstuning, germanauto parts, and awe tuning). And maybe give my some insight on how hard of a job it might be.

Second, sometimes when im driveng the car will flash the brake light at me and beep three times and go off. I remember hearing something about it being something with the brake pads getting low, but i just wanted to make sure its not anything with the abs like a speed sensor or a tone ring or anything like that. I took a peek at the rear pads through the rim and the pads are getting a little low and the rotors have a bit of a lip on them. So it would make sense to me that it has something to do with the pad life.

    Thanks a bunch guys.

there are no pad sensor on the rear breaks so in my opinion your lights have nothing to do with the pads.

It sounds like your abs module has a problem..if you're lucky, its a bad wheel sensor or tone ring.

    Good luck

the ball joint is actually the upper control arm, which is a common failure on the A4
