I can't say enough good things about this shop. I know a few others in the Audi community had postive things to say about them and their recent announcement of discounted pricing for a stage 1 ECU flash for Waterfest prompted me to give them a call.
Mark spent a good 30-45 minutes on the phone with me as we went over their software and had a constructive dialoge on how it compares to other programs out there. One thing to remember when dealing with Autospeed, I was talking directly to the guy that wrote the code, not a marketing person or installer. After speaking with Mark, I came away with a very high level of comfort.
Last Wednesday, I took a ride down to Voorhees, NJ and we proceeded with the flash. Mark then gave me a full tour of the turbo system and explained it's inner workings in detail. He swapped out my DV's with 710n's (I supplied, thanks to Vinny/Carson at Riverside) and went over every connection from DV's to TBB, intercoolers. We found a few frayed hoses which he replaced at no charge and he even put the car on the lift, pulled off the bellypan and took a look at all the underside connections.
After tightening down most of the hose clamps, We took a ride around town and then onto the highway. Mark sat shotgun with his laptop and logged the car to make sure everything was working properly and tested all the chip modes -- stock, 93 octane, valet and kill.
All in all, they spent about about 2 hours to flash, test and physically inspect the car and I came away with a bill under $450.
They also gave me a tour of the shop and it's very impressive. They have on site design and fabrication so if Mark can design it, his dad can fabricate it on the spot.
The skill, knowledge and customer oriented attitude is like none other I've experienced elsewhere. The entire experience was truely fantatsic.
As for the product -- I LOVE IT !!! After I was done at AutoSpeed, I drove 7.5 hours to Stowe, Vermont. The stock driveability is preserved but the useable power and torque is exactly what this car needed.
At 3000 rpms, I can gently add throttle and car just takes off in 5th gear and pulls hard and predictibly. If I need more, at 2/3 throttle, the TIP kicks down to fourth and I get thrown into my seat.
Definitely give them a call if you are considering any performance mods.
