Yes Mike we do get a lot of request, many post up thoughts and suggestions in the feedback forum for the site as well. It is impossible to make everything happen, have to decide what would be best and most useful for the site and the members

Like I said, lack of pre-planning. :)

The "new" but-not-necessarily-better version of the forums looks like a hybrid between the old forums and VBulletin. Which I believe will lead to the eventual upgrade to it just being VBulletin... unless IB is planning to release this as a new forum software product.

**EDIT**

We've launched the VB/KAWF hybrid earlier today - however under the full load of 900+ members the modifications we've made to the code seemed to conflict with the database - causing severe performance problems that you've experienced.

We've reactivated KAWF in the meantime, temporarily, rather then keeping the site offline while fixing the issue...

Internet Brands is a 9-5 company most likely. The thought of performing maintenance/upgrades in the wee hours of their target audience (North America) like most places do, must not "compute" with them.

Personally, I don't know why guys are all against moving to vB. I mean, when it's working, it does work, no?

vBulletin out of the box may work just fine and dandy, but when you start throwing in customizations that IB wants and do a cutover in the middle of the day where most of the traffic is on this side of the world, you're just asking for problems.

Indeed. Kawf makes my brain hurt. It was horrible 9 years ago, and it's still horrible today.

I, for one, can't wait to see it die.
