    b5 style exhaust

ok... so it's time to go to a single 3 inch exhaust, and I've decided that I want to run a dual tip on the one side (driver's) and mold the exhaust outlet on the other (passenger).

opinions, predictions, and photochops are welcome.

I decided on a single 3 inch because it seems to me that it would flow better... I know that even dual 2 inch pipes have more overall AREA to flow than a single 3, but doesn't an exhaust that splits like that create turbulence and lose velocity?

just wondering, not sure how many people out there are exhaust gurus. it'll be cool to see if the car sounds any different too.

    Re: b5 style exhaust

Great idea!! Ive actually been thinking about something like this because while the dual exhaust looks great, it isnt a true dual on our 1.8T's This means just added weight and less flow. But I didnt want to spend the $$ trying to do the body work to elimiate the cutout of the rear bumper. Perhaps a TDI rear bumper and VW style exhaust? I dont know if u know what i am talking about...my buddys jetta has one
    another stereotypical Audi

    Re: b5 style exhaust

i know what you mean, and I considered the TDI bumper... but that'll cost me more than just filling the cutout with duramix or something like that (perhaps a scrap piece of bumper, some duramix, and then bondo)

I've got a lot of body work coming up anyways, so I guess I'll have to get on that along with the rieger front, sides, ecode roof spoiler, and w/e else i get my hands on between then and now. hahaha

Jeff had a single , I think it was 3 or 4 inch. I don't know the details but he had a BT ( I think it might have been AWE's early kit , not sure). It definitely looked different though. Almost like an STI or something.

You can't link it from your desktop. You need to upload it to the AZ gallery then it will give you a link to post.

I've seen Jeff's car in person and it does look pretty good, but i think the dual setup looks better. You know what they say about the grass on the other side don't ya?
