    Carbon Fiber Hood Prop Shock

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just got a fiber image hood and want to have the same hood raising shock like the stock hood. I know that the OEM shock is too powerful so I will need a less powerful one and some way to mount it to the hood. Anyone have any ideas?

I really dont want to have some halfassed piece of metal or wood holding it up so only that shock.

    Thanks

Re: Carbon Fiber Hood Prop Shock

My cousin put a CF hood on a 200SX a few years back and changed the mount points on the hood to compensate. Forward on the hood end IIRC. It worked but wasn't pretty. Boys rolling in a G35 2 door now. heh.

A better solution.....get shocks with a valve so you can reduce the oomph by venting some of the gas inside....not too much tho..... ; ^ )

QuickLifts Plus or Elite. You can see if you can use a set they make for another car or if they sell a universal kit that you can then mount to any CF hood.
