    car buying advise

    Ok I have a growing family (Pregnant Wife & 2.5 year old)

    I own a black 97 A4 1.8 5spd 217k
    I am looking at a grey 02 allroad 6spd 127k


    I think my car looks great(but I think I have a lees critical eye for some I own)

    allroad looks ok seems to run ok the suspension I am unsure if it ok (way bouncer the the A4 with over 200k)

    anyway
    13500+tax plus my car
    anyone

    Well, it's a fair price I'd say... your car isn't worth too much, and allroads have gotten quite cheap. Bank on a pricey timing belt job though, I believe... if it hasn't been done.

    Maybe keep it then, and buy the Allroad outright? What're they asking?
    You always get hosed on trade... but it's easy. Market value for your car if you were to list it would be around 5-6 I think... And I know what you mean. You've owned it and cared for it... it's worth more to you. I've been there!
