Joey Mod follow up w/ problems

Glad I didn't do the thing for anyone else using same method or paint.... I think this occurred from condensation under the paint.
No pics yet but those of you at Waterfest will see it as I'm not doing anything to fix it.
Anyhow, I've got small bubbles coming up in some of the paint inside. Nothing right around the bulb housings, so I know it's not heat/melting.
But little bublles popped through here and there. I think that the headlights may have heated some trapped stuff enough to make them pop up through the paint when it got soft from the interior being warmed up with headlights on.
Nothing that bad; most may not notice. But if you see them at Waterfest.... that ain't what they looked like when I was done. Live and learn for the next batch. Which may be done on e-codes I'm thinking.

That's the most likely explanation, I'd think. It isn't bad, but it's not perfect, either. And I hate that.

Is there a chance you had grease on the area(s) prior to paint?

that's weird. I haven't had a single issue with mine yet. maybe i'll take mine apart and see if there's anything i can do...

the gases/plastic explanation doesn't work for me.. wouldn't we get the same effect in the stock chrome whatever is on it?

i say you take a needle to the bubbles and call it a day lol. or sand/repaint

Nope. This has only happened recently, and the mod was done way back when.... I don't know.

And as for taking them apart and re-doing, that ain't heppening because I fuzor-d the halves together. They are not coming back apart. I have some ideas on being able to do interior, changable, white LED city light strips on my next set. So I'm prolly just gonna get some ecodes and hack in to them.

Yeah other than the hairline crack from me flexing the plastic when reinstalling after paint mine are fine. Gases might be the explaination. I know when I leak gas, paint sometimes bubbles. ha... ha... drum roll please...... anybody?

My lights are holding up great as well.....I also have imperfections in them as well, but only I know about them, and although they bug the hell out of me, I shall just live with it!

I've done the hard part...now just need to paint them! I can't decide if I want to paint the chrome surrounds or not. And I'm also debating painting the reflectors to match the body color.

Are eCodes black all over? I've never seen any up close...
