    Cracked manifold?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have the 034 manifold and recently I am getting this very raspy exhaust sound. The pitch changes with the rpms, but I dont know if its a gasket or if I am looking at a crack in the manifold. Anyone on here remember what it sounds like with a cracked manifold?

    Thanks in advance!

Usually with a cracked mani during cold starts it will have a high pitched squealing sound and then as the car warms up to operating temps the squealing will usually go away.

That sort of sounds like mine, but mine is more of a raspy sound until it warms up. Then you cant hear anything. If it is I am not looking forward to tearing back into that!

You can just check by using your hand to feel for any exhaust leaks at the manifold, just do this when you first start up the car when it is all cold. You could also use something that wont burn if you touch the manifold but will move when the exhaust blows on it.

Yea that could work. I dont see anything on the top of the manifold, but I am wondering if its on the underside. Where were the ATP manifolds cracking at?
