    So i did my ring clearances today

    I just finished my ring clearances and this is what i came up with

    Top Bottom
    #1 .017 .020
    #2 .018 .020
    #3 .016 .021
    #4 .016 .020


    What do you guys think? ive been told from various people a range from .014-.020 for the top and .016-.022 for the bottom.i also measured the stock rings that i removed and they were .015 top and .018 bottom.

    youre on the small end... how much boost do you plan on pushing?

    id widen them to .018-.020" for the top compression ring and .020-.022" for the bottom compression ring...

    hey jake, was talking to you yesterday, bob at qed told me .014 for top and .016 for bottom if i remember correctly and you told me as you stated, so i figure ill end up somewhere in the middle. gonna run 24lbs on 93 octane max and i have the c116 file for i think 38lbs but dont think im gonna be running that program too much. thanks for the input

    Here are my rings in order of upper and lower compression and then the oil group. Gaps are right in line with yours and it runs great. It has been running with a 17 psi K04 for a couple years. It has been fine but I always wonder if it will be a little tight with the heat that real power and sustained high revs bring. I doubt it considering what stock bottom ends have put up with.

    thanks onemoremile ill be pushing 24lbs here and there so i may end up taking another thousand or two off, but i didnt touch the oil control ring, should i? just make the same clearance as the bottom ring?

    I would use the recommendations above for the comp rings. Not sure about the oil ring.

    bob said he never had to touch an oil ring.... as long as there is a gap to begin with, you are good
