Hey guys... im lookin at a few B6's and have a few questions. Figured this would be the best place to ask. Which is the better engine for this car 1.8t or the 3.0L. Im aware u can chip the 1.8T but i dont think it would surpass the 3.0L in hp and torque. Also wat is the medium price range for this car... 12000? Thanks in advance

obviously your new to the forum so i thought you might not realize there is a search function, which contains the answers to your questions.

for example, this search took a total of 9 seconds, i timed it!

and as you can see, someone asked your exact question a mere 3 weeks ago. so put your e-cock away and try searching before cluttering up the forum. cheers!

if you're looking into buying a B6, stay away from an '02-'03 as they are known to have mechanical problems over time. consumer reports reviewed the '04-'05 B6s a lot higher. from '04+ you'll get painted lowers as well which is a huge appearance benefit! people are going to argue the year factor, but i honestly believe it to be 100% true.

get the 1.8T and a chip (Stage 1) soon after, and you'll be happy. after that pick up a set of used injectors from AZ and a diverter valve to go Stage 1+...this will be quite a bit faster than a stock 3.0 i believe.
