Hi i want some rims for my car. The current ones are stock 17's and while they are nice, they have lots of scratches, and i would rather save the tires/tread for winter/snow driving.

What rims look good on the b7 a4? specifically black colored. And will I need to get lowering springs/shocks and such for a real nice look? How much "bumpier" or noisier will it make the ride (right now its a very comfortable ride, but definately bouncier than my friend's 330i with 18" rims and sport suspension, his is much firmer and more stable, but you can feel the little bumps alot more, but not to the point of annoyance)

so i would prefer some 18's. I always see people talking about BBS LM Reps? who has that on their black a4? Thanks!

ultraleggeras look way good on our cars. everyone on this forum will tell you to lower your ride. And as you lower your ride you will also get bumpier because of the stiffer springs

    Re: Rims

Yeah I agree no one here will tell you to keep your car at your current stock setting. It is kinda personal preference, if you are not about the lowered look, then maybe it is not for you, but if you walk away and turn around just to look at your car and you think it would look better lower the lower it. You will have a bumpier ride, but that is just part of the territory. Also make sure you are a careful parker because curbs and speed bumps can get you if you are to low. On this same note, I say get the rims you like don't let us make the decision for you. I like the ultra's and also I like my Enkie SC05 but that is just me :) I chose them. Do you like thin spoke lots of spokes 5 spoke 7 spoke? You like polished lip? Do you like gray do you like black?

ok I am don for now... Hope that helped.

    Re: Rims

I'm in the same situation as you. I have stock wheels/tires/susp, and i'm looking for something similar to what you want (Black 18/19's with coilovers). The only thing that's stopping me is finding something i like. It seems like everyone has OZ UL's and i want something different, but for the price and the look it's almost the way to go.

You need to do a search or take a look at the stickies.
Those will show you just about every possible wheel/tire/suspension option.

Wheels are always a personal choice, so get whatever YOU like. BBS LM is a mesh wheel that's been around for many years and black tends to make things appear smaller, so if you want black, go for 19's, especially any wheels that have a lip. Be prepared to sacrifice your ride quality with 19's, even more so with lowered ride.

    look on website such as

    www.tirerack.com
    www.setuning.com
    www.edgeracing.com
    www.tunershop.com

for examples of colors/styles and what they cost.
    Ignorance is bliss.
