    Topic

I want to get coilovers for my car, I dont have a 1K to spend on coils, the cheapest I can find are about 850 for tein basics. I remember someone here saying they got coils for 500 maybe a little more they posted pics of a white usp and the brand of coils was not a main stream brand, I would buy those I dont know the name. Can anyone steer me in a direction as to where I can get some coilovers, adjustment and all that I dont care to much about.

    TIA

I believe V-Maxx is the brand that you are referring to for $500. I personally went Stasis SS, I love them and I got them for $900.

Haha I know trust me but I decided the other day that if I can get them for cheap there are some in the classifieds but it seems like one is being sold and the other idk. I really want a nice stance for the car and then maybe a stage 1 awe and I would be done.

It really isn't that bad of a DIY. Just follow martini's guide on a4mods.com and you'll be fine. I did it with a buddy of mine in about 4-5 hours.

Patience rules the day and in the end you'll spend less... get farther ahead, faster.

Perhaps this year Waterfest would be a great opportunity for you to scope the stances and responses from owners and get the proper setup for what you desire out of your car in the end.

JMO though, take it or leave it.

Else, Tire Rack has great deals for cheap stuff without "cheaping out."

Hey yeah I mean I read what others wrote about springs and shocks combo and people did say to wait and coils, I dont want to seem like I want to cheap out but when I set my mind on something I want to do it and get it quickly.

Also the coilovers are NEX anyone know about them? Also V-Maxx doesnt make coils for the B6

    Re: Question about coilovers?

I have Tiens...I can honestly say, for $700...its more than a steal...soo comfortable...just a tad stiffer than stock sport suspension...and they sit low...I installed myself...took a solid 6 hours...with JUST ME!! Rear spring was the hardest part...fronts went on in like 45 min...and I followed a4mods.com..

    Good luck..

    Re: Question about coilovers?

I went with Vogtland coilovers and I love the adjustability on them. If you search, you will notice that these coliovers have the easiest way of adjusting the rear shocks. The car is just a little stiffer than stock, but as far as Teins, Ive heard that the shock aren't that great, and sometimes you get a bumpy ride. But on the other hand, most people love them, as they are the best bang for the buck. I just got my hands on the Vogtlands for just a tad more than the Teins and I must say these have suited me real well. Once you ride the car with a good set of C/O's you will definitely appreciate the car more. Just gotta watch out for the pot holes

    Re: Question about coilovers?

I went with Vogtlands. Got them brand new for a little over a grand. Very happy with them and will agree with how easy they are to adjust. I figured I would spend the extra cash to be able to adjust them on the car. But overall, my favorite thing on the car. A good set of coilovers make a huge difference.

    Re: Question about coilovers?

The Vogtlands is where I've settled with my research. When I'm ready that's what I'll buy unless for whatever reason I figure I can afford Stassis MoSport or Ohlins combos.

I didnt have an impact gun..so I went to Sears and picked up a bent wrench...alittle struggle, but works like a charm. Then returned it to the store...win win right there.

Yea, I guess I'll have to rent a compressor and a gun for the day. I think its around $50/24Hours for both of them together.
