Well, I'd get a threating letter written by a lawyer telling them that you will sue them for neglecting the lemon law. I'd also record every phone conversation, contact the local Police department. Make as much commotion as possible to ruin their name, etc untill their FORCED to either buy back the car or repair it at any shop / dealer of your choice. They can not demand you to get it repaired at that dealer either.

I think coming off strong wont get you far. I would make sure you have all your information straight, {dates, miles, policy, ect}. They dont have to give you a warrenty if its sold as is. check all your doc's. good luck

^^^ x2. My thoughts exactly...Do you have a signed warrenty?? Give them hell. Slander is a good start...word of mouth gets around fast. Lemon law is only good after three failures of the same part.... But a warrenty is golden...seek a lawyer if possible..or atleast bother them till they give in... Better buisiness bureau might help too.

Your voice can go along way...Don't keep quiet....

first, lemon laws vary state to state.. never mind an different country. So check Canadian laws that apply to you. Check anything and everything you signed/agreed to (keep in mind, some laws might void some agreements, or some agreements might void some laws) and work from there. If after you've done all that and think they are responsible for fixing whatever problems you have, then present them all the facts. If they still refuse, bring it to court or.. voodoo priest, or whatever you Canadians use.

You could skip all of that and get a lawyer, but prepare to pay! Having a lawyer write a letter might help.. if the shop is in fact responsible for repairing the turbo.

by the way.. i'm no surgeon, but if one turbo goes out, i'm sure the other will follow suit shortly after.

Re: Very Serious Question !!! Turbo+ Dealer

I dont see why everyone thinks the dealer isnt going to stand by there cars. A. lawer is going to cost as much as just repairing the turbo's. B. being a dick wont get you far with a dealer unless there are no other options. I made good friends with most of the guys at my local dealer, they hook me up and anyone i send in that says my name. All the guys go out of there way for me. If i walked in there when my turbos blew 10k into me with a im talking to my lawyer attitude i dont think i would have the luxury i do.

Agreed..and how do you know a turbo died? How long ago did you buy it? where is the car now? Did another shop diagnose teh blown turbo?

Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying sue, sue , sue. But after dropping 19K on a car and it fails...you have some ground to stand on. Start by being business like, use your warrenty as a bargaing chip, Don't give in. They are a business, and will have alot to lose with bad publicity.

Any threats or acts of anger is not going to get you anywhere. Be civil. Be smart. Use common sense. If the dealership is not willing to work with you, write a letter to Audi of America describing the situation, how the dealership treated you, and how they refuse to honor a 30 day warranty.

This is assuming you purchased this from an Audi dealership, not some used car lot. If the dealership has any evidence that your car was chipped when in their possession, you can forget about any warranty whatsoever.

Re: Very Serious Question !!! Turbo+ Dealer

Ok guys first, the dealer near my house always offered me good service and i respect them, but i went to an audi dealer 1 hour away from me a got treated like shit. I called them over and over and they kept saying that the sales manager is on vacation, but he never called back. Anyways ive had the car for 3 weeks and i dont drive it to go to work i did 600 miles and the turbo blew. Im pretty sure its a turbo, its smocking white as hell and i heard something fly in my exhaust. I signed a contract and its written no warranty. But i think its no extended warranty, because no matter who sells you a car they have to give the 30 day warranty especially the dealer.

Re: Very Serious Question !!! Turbo+ Dealer

I would have taken it immediately to the dealer after the failure and let them look at it. If they stand by their cars and you said only 600 miles? Id call the service department and tell them you just purchased the car and bring your documents of the mileage. They should be able to diagnose the car tell you whats going on with it. I dunno the laws that apply to you but from there you can get a start. Dont try to do any repairs yourself, tell them you just purchased it, ask for a manager, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT, if you feel shafted do a CIS survey. They might have felt that you some young tard that street raced the car, prove them wrong. Act professional, talk with manners and dont threaten until you are left with no choice. Go up to the dealer and talk to the highest manager available, tell them your situation. Let them know that you are unhappy about your service and purchase at the dealer. Good luck with everything.

I would get the car towed there ASAP and show up with the car when it arrives. Find the service manager that is working, explain the situation calmly and let them know that they offered a 30-day warranty on all cars. Go from there...

    ^ What he said.

Time is never on your side. At the very least, bring it to another shop that can verify in writing that the turbo or whatever is damaged and it was damaged within 30days/miles/limit required by law.

Is that the way it works in Canada? Cause it sure as hell aint the way it works In America. You can buy a car "where is, as is", with no written warranty. I don't think a dealer would offer a warranty, extended or not on a 6-8 year old car, unless it quallified for "certified pre-owned". I could be wrong..

i have a b6 but when i had white smoke comin from my exhaust of was a blown seal going into the turbo (at least that's what the dealer told me.... i had cpo so i didn't pay anything i just said fix it). it might not be the turbo itself but the seals might be f-ed up. you might want to check those before you say the turbo is broke... but your situation sucks.... sorry to hear about that.. i agree w/ what other people were saying, check all your paperwork and local laws to see about the 30 day law and shit. hope it gets resolved fast and free/cheap.

I would take it to another shop, get it diagnosed with a date on it so you can prove it occured within your 30 days, then tow it to the dealer and park it right in their service lane. Write the the sales manager a letter with a copy of the diagnosis attached and attaching your warranty, explaining that they must fix it. Tell them they have 2 weeks to respond in writing or you will take them to court.

I really don't think he's got a warranty..Is this some unwritten law that vehicles sold used have to come with a 30 day warranty? I've never bought from a dealer, so I don't know, but even browsing ebay auctions for dealers, I've seen it written in disclaimers: no warranty expressed or implied, sold where is, as is. Or they might say extented warranty available, but that's obviously something that has to be purchased in addition to the vehicle...

    Hope this ends well though...

Most dealers in the US have a 30-day conditional warranty to "prove" how great the car is, etc. I don't recall a "law" saying they have to give you a warranty.

However, there doesn't need to be a law to win this case.

a quick trip down the google lane finds this bit
    http://www.ontariocarfinancingloans....uarantees.html

In Canada, car dealers are not required by law to offer buyers a used car guarantee. However, you will find most car dealerships provide a window sticker on each vehicle they showcase displaying some type of used car guaranty.
I would say you are far better off playing the nice card then the lawyer card.

Well, true .. If he can prove the chip was on the car when he bought it, then he'd have a better case ... BUT, I don't know how he would do that.
