Best Stage 3 or better clutch kit...

Hey All,

I have a Stage 3+ S4 with an OEM RS4 clutch in it and wondered if I could gain anything by going with an aftermarket kit?

Any recomendations???

Wicked Motorsports sells a clutchmasters stage 3/4 which is essentially a CM FX400 ceramic that can mate up with your standard sized flywheel with no modifications. The beauty of a ceramic clutch is that they are not as fragile and there is no delicate break-in process that could destroy your kevlar clutch before you even get to use it

my stage 3 ate my rs4 clutch. i ended up going with a vast stage 3 setup

so you have a rs4 pressure plate with a kevlar disc. sorry still not a fan of those pressure plates. I was pleased with clutch masters though.

a good majority of the aftermarket clutches use the rs4 pp. i would hardly call that the weak link...

my rs4 clutch shit the bed, but the pp is still legit.

the vast clutch is used by Jay, Marc and several other serious stage 3 cars that put that clutch through serious abuse.

Vast Kevlar. 40 plus ~4000+ rpm launches and still holding strong. . .wish I could say that same for my rear crossmember, CV shafts, & diff mounts. . .

I was told in the early days that some of these clutch kits had lighter flywheels for faster response time but the problem with many of the kits is that they rattled? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also, I don't really track the car too much, I know I'm a pu$$y, but I do value a balance between performance and drivability can anyone comment on the clutch pedal feel after installing either the VAST or the ClutchMaster products?

being as i drive a tip, i dont know anything about clutches, and was wondering what the diffrence is between kevlar & ceramic? Pros, Cons? Which is stiffer? I do know how to dirve stick but i hate heavy (stiff) clutches. I see a six speed in my furtue furtue, what clutch would i go with if i didnt want a stiff clutch? I assume the kevlar is bulletproof? =)

with a light weight flywheel you will see some "chatter" at low rpms. I have the awe flywheel and it used to be fairly loud in 2nd gear when you were really lugging the engine at low low rpms.

its really not that bad at all.
