Noisey Fuel pump?

Well it sounds like the fuel pump you can hear the hummy through out the whole car. Is this a common problem with these cars. Its my wifes 04 A4 1.8t frontrak.. Are there updated fuel pumps, Fuel filter was changed 4k miles ago i bought it used with 50k on it.

How do i find out my car falls under this..

is it like a whining noise coming from under the right rear passenger seat. If so it very well could be just your fuel filter. I had a similar problem a month or so ago and it turned out to be the filter. took no time to fix at all real easy. check that first before you buy a new fuel pump. good luck

replaced it 3-4k miles ago. The whinning went away at first but today it was much louder then normal. Car drives fine for right now. I think im just order a new one cause on wensday im driving to washington DC and dont want to tow it back.
