A friend of mine with a white b7 purchased the forge spacer, he never installed it and offered it to me. Does anyone have the spacer installed? How does it sound?

    Re: Forge spacer?

    it sounds awful...Dont put it...
Put a CAI instead you'll get much nicer sound, plus more power...
On the contrary, with the spacer, you may loose some hp...

I agree with doctor, for once! haha

spacer will also sometimes not blow or sound how you might have picture. It is a type of bov, but doesnt always blow off how a bov does sound

    Re: Forge spacer?

I heard the spacer before and it doesn't sound as good as BOV's on other cars. When on 1st or 2nd gear, unless you really step on the gas and lift off, it dumps the air slowly, so instead of the nice PSSHHH, you get a slow sustained release (psssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh). I think this is due to the electronic DV's we have as opposed to mechanical ones.

    Re: Forge spacer?

i had it on my car before the carbonio and it made a long psssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh noise that sounded electronic as hell. but when i put the carbonio on, it sounded great. my buddy has a hks sequential on his mk4, and it sounded just like that. I loved the sound. but i took it off because it cost too much hp between shifts b/c of the loss of boost and time needed to respool.

Wow, you almost had me on the phone to see what time the shop was open till. I defiantly do not think that sound is worth any hp loss.
