    VAG-tool problems, dying battery

    So for the background:
I purchased the VAG-tool from Adam with SPP shown in this link http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201612

I received the tool fired it up and everything was working fine. Did a bunch of the VAG mods such as all doors unlock, fogs on with parking lights, windows up/down, etc. etc.. I also had logged a couple of times just familiarizing myself with the program.

So the other day I'm sitting in my car and I want to run some boost logs. I get the channel up and logging. Then I inadverntly push the little "memo pad" button and the palm leaves the "VAG" screen and goes to the memo pad screen. When I tried to get back into the "VAG" screen I got the error "Serial: port in use (0307)"

Now there is nothing I can do. I can't connect to any of the channels, I can't add a new vehicle... everything I try to do I get the same error. So I was thinking... is it the plam port in use, or the ECU? Well today when I went out to my car I think I got my answer. The battery was almost completely dead, and I barely got it to start.

Now here's my new question... is my car's ECU still thinking that I am trying to acces it? Is there anything I can do, maybe disconnect the battery to reset the ECU? I can't believe that the software would be so sensative that if you accidently push one button the entire system freezes up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And yes, I have tried to contact Adam and he has been... well let's just say less than helpful.

yes, do a hard reset of the control modules in the car by unhooking both battery cables and then touch them together for a few seconds to get out any residual electricity in the system, maybe let them sit off for a minute or so then rehook them up, should fix you up if it is problem with the vehicle, if that dosent do it its probably with the palm.
