Sunroof will not do as I do....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I turn the knob to fully close and the sunroof closes to about the 80% position.
I then have to flick the knob back(to any position) and then back to close for the sunroof to close properly.
Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it just does not move to the appropriate position.
I don't know how to tackle this problem, Any suggestions ?

Look at the plastic track that the sunroof follows. Is it broken?

Usually caused by faulty pre-selector switch.

Besides following that link which then I still had some issues I added some WD 40 on a Q tip and lubed all the contacts works great now.

just FYI, WD40 isn't lube and will not last long and will potentially make the problem worse in the future

the link says it only works for the 2 way rotary switch? Are the switches the same for the facelifts? Cause mine won't work all the time either.

It was a very thin coat, and so far isn't been a year with no issues, when I just followed the process in that link it still was acting up. WD40 is also perfectly safe for the electronics. I guess ou could also use specific electronics cleaner and grease.
