    Ummmm, no...

You can make a dual exhaust setup but it will be custom, not from a TT...

I don't get you - why is it gay?

I'm going dual ovals on my car, RS6-style, once my engine's in and running.

First one's of an S4 sedan, belonging to a lad here in the UK.
He went for dual twins, which I feel are too much. Some like it though...

And another, strangely, another S4 in Nogaro, albeit it an Avant.
This is more my personal choice, dual ovals, RS6-style...

Works really well on the Euro S4 rear bumper.

A shot from underneath the same S4 Avant, showing pipe routing...

the rs6 style looks pretty clean, would look good on a sedan also. The dual on both sides is a little too much.

    That logic doesn't make sense.

Our car's didn't come with BT's, FMIC's, (we even trim our bumpers to make them fit) RS4 front bumpers, (we even melt them to make them fit slim-shouldered A4's)

Early cars didn't come with one-piece headlamps, yet folk will happily slice their fenders to get them to fit.

It's all about personal choice, unless we're all gay for fitting things to our cars, that they never left the factory with?

    it's gay because it's for a 4 cyllinder car. or a peanut powered 2.8l.

    on a V8, yes.

but on an inline 4 cyllinder. NO!

What he said. I'm pretty sure I could buy just about anything and not be 100% happy with it. That's why there's aftermarket parts

    Now that I don't understand.

My old roommate had dual exhaust on his '94 Honda Civic. That was cool.... Not.

There's a BT guy on the 'Tex that has dual exhaust on his GTI. 3" TBE and a 2" from the wastegate all the way back. They both have matching exh tips and it looks decent. Idea is ok, extra weight... maybe, original, YES.

um it's my opinion... I have one piece headlights however it didnt come on my b5 on a later year however the duals didn't. (atleast to my knowledge.)
Why do you need a dual exhaust for a 4 cyclnder? I know you a undergoing a v8 swap but for a inline 4 do you need a dual um no...

Its not like he is wanting it so he thinks he has a V motor. It looks nice, and everyone can have their own opinion. You dont HAVE to have a v6/8 just to run a dual exhaust. Just look at the B6. Would it be fair to call it wrong to convert that to a single exhaust?

hey if we all liked the same thing this world would be soo effing boring!! I dont know any two cars that people have modded that look the same.

It might not be about performace adding features that he wants the dual exhaust, i personally love the look of the dual tips on that S4. its different.

Id say if he wants to under go the custom work and make it a dual, more power to him.

A lot of modern I4-engined cars leave the factory these days with dual exits.
    The B6 / B7 1.8T being prime examples. Even on 150hp models.
Gay? I wouldn't have thought Audi engineers could be described as such.

    It's not exclusive to V-engines.

Dual exhaust actually hurts performance, thats why its gay. To go out of your way to do something for looks that hurts hp is gay to me. I guess its my personal preference.

i like the rs4 sytle exhaust, but i feel since most of us ave 4 bangers it wouldent "look right", on those S4's it looks great, gotta love the euro style rear bumper.

Those that argue about dual exhaust on a 4 banger, who cares? The M3 is an I6 and came with dual exhaust! The SRT4 is a 4 banger and has duals... It is more common than you think and dual exhaust actually isn't meant for V8 performance, it is more for looks...

iirc, the B8 A4 was converted back to a single exit exhaust

my basic opinion on it is this, performance > aesthetics. period.

so i don't care what my car looks like, as long as it's performing to 100% of it's potential. and a single exit exhaust is better for flow, and less weight. PLUS, it's easier for me to run strait piped as all i have to do is remove one muffler, instead of 2.

yes, and the new Evo's and STi's have dual exhausts. so lets try our hardest to try to be like them. as that's what we're all about around here right....

    Prove it.
The only part that'll hurt performance is a couple lbs added to the already lightened exhaust system.

My car dropped almost 30lbs from me putting exhaust on it. So add in a couple feet of pipe and an exh tip. now it still lost 20lbs total. Performance increase, yea, but not as much.
Not every body chooses to make their car an all out performer. If you're going to bitch about the weight, I'd expect your car to not have a dash, door panels, ....

    your analogy is retarded^

driving around with only one muffler is not difficult.

but driving around without a dash and door panels would be

No one puts exhaust on their car to drop weight.

wrong. compare a straight thru custom exhaust(catless) to an OEM exhaust w/ cats. that will save you more weight than any CF hood.

dropping weight is like the 2nd biggest reason a lot of people do.

on a B5 S4, people drop upwards of 50 lbs when they go aftermaket turbo back

Any badly made exhaust can lose valuable hp, be it single or dual exit.
It's the same analogy applied to badly made cone filters / induction kits.

A well constructed dual exit will not lose hp.
One made as a DIY effort, by not matching flow characteristics will certainly drop torque levells.

    I doubt the B6 / B7 1.8T I4 lost power when Audi designed the motor, essentially a carry-over from the B5 range.

ITS ALL PREFERENCE THERE ISN T A RIGHT OR WRONG ON THIS TOPIC.
I would love to see an 04 g35 sedan with dual exhaust like the coupe.
BUT in my opinion the b5 doesnt have the right size to pull off that look.
