I pulled the code and it says Trans Range Sensor. I cleared the code and it came back for a few minuets a few days later and hasnt returned. I googled it and found only a few things on it. Its located inside of the CVT Trans and is also known as the TCM. Have any of you had this issue or can shed some light on my situation. What am I looking at for repair costs? The cars drives fine and the fault code hasnt returned. Would a trans flush help out at all. The car is a 2005 a4 tip 1.8L. It hasnt had the fluid changed yet. Thanks for your help.

sorry man your out of luck...(TCM) transmission control module is what you most likely need. i had the exact same problem with my 04 A6, went to the Audi dealer and they quoted my $2000 : ( but you can get it somewhere else if you shop for maybe 1200 to 1500. good luck
