    2.0T Quattro Tiptronic Stage 2+ 0-60 Times

    Hey guys well after installing my boost gauge i figured i would do some hard launches and with my Vag Com get some 0-60 times. I did three runs. I seem to hold boost at around 15 pounds but spike at 19psi for about a second.

    1st Run: ESP Off Powerbrake to 3200 RPM Made 16psi of boost
    0-60 5.1

    2nd Run: ESP Off Powerbrake to 3000 RPM Made around 15psi of boost
    0-60 5.3

    3rd Run: ESP Off Powerbrake to 3300 RPM and Rev it to build some boost as i was Powerbraking, built up around 17psi of boost at Launch.
    0-60 4.9.

    I am absolutely thrilled right now. Just to make sure this was not some sort of fluke i hooked up the Vag Com to my moms Mercedes SUV and did a 0-60 dash. I got 6.9 seconds the exact time quoted by Mercedes so the Vag Com was not reading off. So i guess you can make an A4 Fast with a stock turbo. The temp outside was 69 Degrees but it just felt very cool and the car was pulling harder than normal. This was done with the spare tire in the trunk and me in the car (of course:) and im 240lbs.

    Impressive times if I do say so myself. Glad to know that it's possible to do some work with the Tip transmission.

    Sounds a little optimistic, but incredible if true! What was your tire pressure for these runs?
    And VAG-COM in a Mercedes? Really?

    Im actually planing on going with a Big Turbo kit. Either APR, AWE or Vast. As of right now im leaning towards AWE if they can keep the price at under 5k. All im going to do is upgrade my Torque Converter and try to get a custom tune done to the tranny to maybe shift faster and rev match 1st to 2nd gear. My goal with this car is to get it under 12.5 in the quarter and i think with the BT Kit i can do that.

    My tire pressure is 39PSI all around. Yes you can use a Vag Com in any car with an OBD II Port. You can select Generic OBD II under options. I also had about 25 miles left on the tank and have 93 octane.

    This is great info, has anyone else tried this for comparison? Also what is Stage 2+ defined as?

    Im hoping to go to the track this month. Yes it will probably be 90 degrees out by my goal is to get a great 60' time and trap over 100mph. A 13.6 wouldn't hurt either but i think i might run in the high 13's low 14's due to the high temp. I will def. head down to the track October to see the difference nice 45 degree weather does.

    Have you done any Dyno's recently or have any idea/guess to what you are putting down?

    Thanks. Due to the fact i have bought most of my mods either used or during holiday sales im in the car for about 5k. Not as bad as you may think. It does help that im still in school and have the luxury of living at home so all my work money goes into my car (for now at least). Im taking advantage of living at home because i know in a couple of years when i need my own place i will not have the opportunity to do these mods.

    It allows the engine to idle for a preset amount of time after you've turned the ignition off/gotten out of the car to allow the turbo to cool. It's a neat toy, but really not necessary if you don't do any heavy boosting before you turn the car off.

    Another noob question what is required to run the Stage II software? Do you need an upgraded intercooler? plus other items?

    You need to have an Exhaust and Testpipe. Then if you buy a high performance fuel pump you need a new file.

    Nice numbers!!

    I am curious to know how the car still feels with all the mods though. I heard that stage II is much more aggresive than a simple chip. I am looking at really modding my car like you have done (minus the tp), but i don't want it to feel...well..not like an audi (if that makes sense). I mean i still want it to be comfortable and drivable, but also be able to put out the power when i need it. So any comments you could offer on how it feels with the new software, exhuast and fuel pump would be appreciated.

    besides the car being loud b/c of the testpipe the car drives like a dream. it has not changed in driveability. love the mods. hope that helps.

    nice numbers, too bad we live so far away, we could have dont best of three at the strip. In Jan. I should have my turbo upgrade. P.S. Try launching at 3500, it works best.

    4.9?? Can that be right? Damn, that's not far off an e46 m3's time. I've seen the m3 in various mags from 4.6-4.8 or so. Wow, I'm pretty stunned by that time, honestly.

    honestly, a manual would prob be slower because it is much harder to launch

    no way to get that much boost that early in the game

    true, but the fact that it's on the stock turbo is impressive to me. I just didn't know the car was capable of a sub 5 second 0-60 time. This is making me re-think my possible plans to get an e46 m3 in the (hopefully) near future.

    If I could get into an 06 a4 and hook it up like he did and get those results, it might be the way to go. With that kind of performance, I personally would not need a BT for the b7.

    IMO the A4 has really become a real well rounded car. Its definently faster than a stock S4 and i get over 30mpg on the highway.

    i lost about 1-2mpg b/c of the fsi pump. around town i get about 24mpg but i am an aggressive driver.

    Pete, i love the post. I am really curious to see my 0-60 times. I think for some reason you are really optimistic because 4.9 0-60 is fast. Thats porsche territory!@! I need to have a few runs with you. I want to 0-60 mine as well. Also we need to set up the get togethers again! I have finally lowered my car and should have my cupra lip next week. I am getting married next saturday so lets try to do the gtg this thursday again! We should all meet up. I want to see your car with the intercooler.     What I am curious about is how did you brake boost your car up to 3000+ rpm? I for sure thought the b7's would be like the b6's where it will cut off your throttle at a lower RPM. But def props to that time, that is really impressive for such a heavy car and a miniscule engine/turbo.

    Sometimes the car cuts the throttle thats why i have a hard time with consistency but it will let you do it once then if you put the car in drive a little and then try again it will do it again. it never lets you powerbrake over 3000 3 times in a row though.
