1st time at the track today

Managed to get five times in but damn they were all over the place haha. They are in order and although they aren't terribly good I am very satisfied that I broke a 2sec 60'. I think I am hooked. Where can I seriously improve?

Ran no spare with no rear seats and 100 octane.

Sorry about the rotated images, I have no idea what thats about.

Re: 1st time at the track today

Your biggest problem is the launch...
I guess you need to practice more and time yourself with the tree...
once you get the 60ft into the 1.6 - 1.8, you should see nicer 1/4 times...
When i saw those times.. I thought you car was completely stock .. yikes... but im not hating on you, it was your first time, and with more practice comes perfection... keep on trying...

Re: 1st time at the track today

Timing yourself with the tree will help your RT, but not your 60'

You just need to work on feathering the clutch more and getting better traction off the launch. If you are running a stock clutch, you need to be careful not to slip it...

Stock clutch is a bitch to work with. I tried holding at 3500 the last run and dumping it and I heard a little wheel spin but still not a great 60'.

Re: 1st time at the track today

i ran a 13.4@101 with a chip and a catback. 1.6 or 1.7 60ft cant remember. i was launching at like 4200 and letting it out pretty hard but lightly feathering it. launched like a pro.

but now i cant launch any higher than 3600 without ripping all through first.

At least you had some decent times! I couldn't get my traction control off and bogged off line no matter what rpm I launched at Btw, nice meeting you and it was cool having another B5 S4 to roll with

I'm anxious to find out what the hell was wrong with your traction control. That would have made all the difference in the world of your runs.

    um...... learn to drive better??

Improve your launch without a doubt.. drop almost .2's of a second off of that.. Stop granny shifting? Lots of things.

    You gotta pound gears homie.

I was able to cut some low 1.8's on stage 2. Not the best, but it pulled hard out the hole. I blipped the throttle around 4-4.5k and just dropped the clutch on the last hard up swing, and immediately into WOT.

Unfortunately I only got a 13.4 because I bounced off the rev limiter.

Re: 1st time at the track today

Ive pulled 1.8s stock. The ideal launch is a hard high 1.6 to low 1.7s. Thats coming out of the hole hard will lay down some good times.

How many runs will a stock clutch keep up with 1.6-1.7 60' with 70K?

TOTALLY depends on how it was treated throughout its lifetime...
