Cleaning up oil spill on engine

I have a B7 which recently had the usual failing PCV valve problem. Because of this engine oil spewed all over the engine bay around the oil cap... I think I can do some risk management control on the engine and not wash it entirely because the car is fairly new and still looks new .. what's the best method of getting out the oil spillage without having to wash? Can any soap used on a towel and just clean it off?

    TIA

get yourself some degreaser like CG Grime reaper or P21S total auto wash and let it soak for a bit. It's not a big deal though
