Well my days going just great...

I called outta work sick this morning for the first time in a few years...

Finally felt ok enough to being installing my wideband but when I got to the garage at my sisters house I saw this and it made me sick to my stomach all over again...



The bar from the overhead door was scraping back and forth over the hood/grill of the car repeatedly... Heres the fucking bar:



No one to blame but myself, hence the title...

possibly, ive pulled the motor outta the car 3 times in this garage in the last few months and never had this problem... dont think ive ever had it this high on the jackstands...

I still don't understand how the bar that controls the door would be that low. Isn't the second picture where the bar connects to the top of the door (top as in when door is shut). That is never below like 6 feet right?! Please explain...

the bar that the door slides on is prob 8 feet or so... the bar hanging down is prob about 7 feet.... like i said, the car is high up on those jackstands

I guess I still don't get it... Either you had your hood 5.5 feet in the air or your garage door is like 5 feet tall...

I have installed many a garage door opener and have never had one of those hanging below 5.5 feet...

Also, I know of no jack that would jack the car that high if it was at roughly 5.5 feet...

Up on jack stands with the hood up, when the door comes down, it would probably scrape if you are too close to the entrance.

Not trying to confront you but no way in hell lol... I do some pretty serious detailing on the side and off the shelf 3M products are nothing like the arsenal I have... I will wetsand starting at 2000 grit then work up to 3000 grit, then hit it with a yellow CCS pad and some Meguiars #83, then again on a CCS orange pad, then Klasse AIO on a white CCS pad, then Megs #7 on a gray pad and then some Megs #21 by hand... Should diminish it but where there is no paint there is nothing for me to correct

The hood pins from 034 look good installed. I have a buddy in Wakefield whos got them on his A4 with CF hood. Come to Warwick meets for once and you'll see em.

Just get some touch up paint to fill in the rash. I recommend sanding it down, filling with some spot putty, primer, and paint the area and blend it in. Then wetsand and buff it. I've down a few spots on my car and no one ever noticed the patch work. Ask bassed about my rear bumper.

its not THAT big of a concern to me... i need to shave a few things and go widebody anyways... i guess the car will be a rolling project sooner than i thought...
