I know thats not always in the cards, but it sucks to see interesting numbers, then a list of HW that i wasnt exactly planning on doing.

I think the turbos are around 6k and the fueling around 3300.00, at least what I've been told. I here there bolt-on, but some one just posted on another thread that they had to pound somethingl in to fit the inlet pipes and cut something...

I had to beat the outer wall of the driver side manifold in a little bit to make room, and grind down the flashing off the drivers side engine mount to make room for the inlet, and remove some brackets off the stock coolant lines. Nothing a dremel and hammer can't take care of.

He's doing one right now so he might be a better person to answer any questions..

Peak horsepower was made at redline, and at redline, boost was 23.5 PSI. Obviously, more pressure at redline will result in more power at redline. It seems the stock manifolds are flowing quite well.

Seriously, there is no sense in reinventing the wheel. The supporting hardware is required, and not included just for fun. Fueling and tuning is available from a number of tuners, and you are welcome to create your own if you have expertise and resources to do so.

yea 6k for turbos is alot, but if you think about it they are specifically made for our cars, so tial had to go through all the r&d to make them complete bolt on.

plus, doesnt that 6k include oil lines, new inlet tubes, and other misc. things?

Peak power came in at 6500rpm, look at the dyno plot it's says peak power 6500rpm 530whp.. What are they flowing quite well to is the question... I would bet the graph would look totally different with a different manifold... You have all the top dollar RS4 parts, why not run the car to 7500rpm then? The stock heads,cams,intake r also fine so y upgrade them then

No pounding of anything is required. I have this kit fitted in my car. Jonathan, who designed the kit, is sitting in my office right now.

Install notes are being prepared now, which will show that some cars require very minor trimming of a draft angle, which is a remnant of the casting process on the engine support bracket. Structural and aesthetic qualities are entirely uneffected.



The bracket can be seen here, as can the draft angle.

Minor stuff like that will come up on almost any kit.. Thats very minor stuff to deal with considering the tight packaging of the motor... Even on my stuff that line was a very close call...

As far as meth/water injection... when you get knee deep in a project like this, a $300-$400 meth injection kit is pocket change. It's very good insurance to keep IAT's low and octane a bit higher. I'm heavily considering it on my car just for safety.

APR and AWE offer K04 based kits that yield much less performance, and cost about the same after fueling. If you have the resources and expertise to deal with fueling on your own, toy can save even more.

If an upgraded fuel pump is not included (walbro 255 will not cut it IMO) then add around $~400 to the $2400 for a Bosch 044.

TiAL's fueling option for this car includes:

60 Pound Injectors and Injector Seats
85mm MAF Housing
X-1 Airbox and Filter (...In Gloss Black Rather than CF)
Tuning as Created by Chris Tapp (11.5@127mph on Pump Gas as seen on Youtube)

When i looked his car over he was running the X1 intake, ER intercoolers, twin disk clutch (smoked the RS4 clutch pretty quick) and the standard walboro 255/injectors/billet MAF housing etc.


A LOT of people are already running all that stuff.

For me, id just need rods, clutch, and turbos. And the ASP twin disk looks like it will fit the bill. Rods... havnt decided.

As far as tuning goes,

EPL Software is available for $2299 and REQUIRES the 044. Included will be EPL Maf, RS4 Accordian, 60lb injectors, plugs, highly developed software, and all hardware. If the customer does not have an 044 we (or EPL direct) can provide one at a very reasonable cost.

This car will do well over 550whp in this configuration, ie meth injected 92 octane, when we final tune it.
