High Knock Voltages - everything else seems 'normal' -- need input please!!

This is OTS Unitronic software for PJK04, 60#, 85mm MAF, 91 octane. Car feels great, smooth.. just beautiful. I'm getting 3.9/4.0 FATS on 91 octane in 78 degree weather just plug and play (no lemmitweaks, etc) - pretty good, IMO.

Here are a couple overlayed logs -- everything looks great except KV's, and (oddly not correlative to KV's) the o2v show a bit of enrichment on the top end.

I'm kind of at a crossroads of what to do in lemmi to get my KV's down. I don't want to pull timing, because my CF's are so low. I don't want to add fuel, because it's going towards rich not leaning out... is my theory off and there is an obvious adjustment?

Any insight from the more experienced loggers/tweakers is greatly appreciated:

I would use better fuel and get some IC's...

Well, they are the craziest KV's I've ever seen....

How are your spark plugs? Which IC's do you have?

yeah i'm perplexed - i would think if i had a lean condition or high CF's it would make sense.

Jordan: plugs are brand new Bosch F6DTC's and RS4 IC's w/ APR hoses.

i think i will fill up with a half tank of 100 octane and see if they come down at all.

Why don't you try some Bosch platin side-fires.....

the ones in their now are the tri-electrode copper bosch plugs, which are supposed to be pretty good. worth a shot though...

i'm just trying to wrap my head around:
car feels GREAT (idle, part, WOT, all around)
    low, low CF's
smooth enrichment to redline / no leaning out
but insanely high KV's (as you've said, never seen that high)

i mean..am i worrying about it too much? are KV's really not that big of a deal as long as CF's are okay?

MikeZ said it's the same tune as yours. Do you have any logs by any chance for comparison?

Knock is not healthy for your engine, that's for sure.

The tri-electrode plugs are all hype. Try some standard copper plugs or the Bosch side-fire plugs, like I suggested. You may see a difference...

i'll try the F5's since they seem to have a cult following around here and have worked well for many. I have some BKR7E's I might throw in to test, until the F5's arrive.

i just switched over the the Bosch Platin side fires, my engine is NOTICEABLY smoother. it actually, and im not kidding, changed my exhaust note. everything is smooth now, even under WOT, it doesnt make the same raspy sound it used to but its a smooth sounding roarrr! i would give them a shot.

im still running BKR8E-IX ngk iridiums, gapped to .026

    Sorry, no logs...

Some raspy noise under high load that im pretty sure is the multiple exhaust leaks that I have. :) That tends to come and go.

Idles fine, part throttle is fine.

Mileage is pretty terrible though. Mostly due to how and where its driven.

Traps 115-117 on pump gas so I really cant complain.

just found this. very interesting: http://forums.audiworld.com/performa...gs/75544.phtml

yeah, Bastard, everything feels great. I mean, 3.9 FATS on 91 octane with those IAT's is nothing to scoff at.

I'm going to do a few more logs with some timing pull and see how it effects KV and timing/CF. I would assume, just from low CF's and going towards rich that there is actually quite a bit more power to be wringed out, just from 91 octane. Can't wait to see what it can do on a cool night with 93 octane mix and even straight 100!
