I have a 2000 Silver A4 1.8tQ tip that im trying to get paint for like from Duplicolor to paint my lowers and bumpers. I have gone to NAPA, AutoZone, and Lee's and still no one says that they carry anything. I went to Duplicolor.com and they dont have a match either

So who makes my paint in a spray can and where can i get it?!

Did you try the dealership???? That was the only way that I could get my paint instead of a regular paint pen! lol

Ditto on paintscratch.com.

Takes a week or two as they actually mix the paint to order... but they do an exact match to the code, and also cross-reference from your VIN. Did a nice job for a paintstick that I needed for my Santorin Avant. On the site you can also order any amount from a pen up to a gallon! Better than the dealer, whom never called me back after I gave them all of my info.

call some body shops and see if they know any good paint suppliers. You should be able to get paint mixed and put in an aerosol can locally for like $25 bucks.

^^ Agreed. Also, try to go to a PPG paint supplier. Then you wont be matching but using the same exact color as the factory.

Exactly. Paintscratch does a VERY VERY good color match though since they use your VIN. Make sure you can match by VIN. You have a better chance and won't have to do so much blending.

i have used the DuPont system with good luck. like people said before find a local paint store that cares ppg and dupont products.

Wow that is sweet! i am totally going back to pepboys tomorrow to pick that up! i saw that color and then decided against it since i was told brilliant silver was the color i needed. Im so glad you posted that and the nice close ups you cant even tell. Great job on the paint job.

how do they account for fading and sun damage when you order from paintscratch.com?

I bought a touch up pen from them for my pearl white avant a couple years back, and the paint didnt match very well. I understand pearl is one of the harder colors to match but i felt that it was because my cars paint had slightly faded from sun exposure.

Do they ask you how many miles you have on your car or do they take its model year into consideration? How do they account for some that has garaged their car the enter life versus a car that has been parked outside all its life?


I have a spot id like to paint on my front bumper and wouldn't mind spending the 50 bucks at the dealer, but im afraid it wont match.

Nothing yo get in a paint pen is going to match 100% unless they electronically scan your car and custom mix it but even then it's not going to be 100%. There is a reason good body shops blend panels.
