My 16 lb forged magnesium days have come to a temporary end...
I'm back in Boston for a bit and I'm having a fit with the roads... I have one cracked rim and one fractured wheel... one's getting fixed and one's going to be replaced... expenses FTL-
So instead of low profile tires on 19's i've taken the drastic step of cushioning up with Potenza RE-01R's 245/45-18 (And had to RAISE suspension to avoid rubbing...) and just put some ch's in there until zee germans fix my other wheels...
I have to say that i've driven 400 miles in the last three days that I've had them and these tires are so comfortable through potholes and SO grippy... I try and find the most spectacularly tight and winding offramps in these parts and they just don't let go. Amazing...
Anyway, I have this as my summer beater setup until I get my Turbonium S truck delivered at some point in fall... at which point I can afford to pamper this car more and watch where I drive more carefully...
phone pics... will post better later. (P.S. you can't see it properly but the tires are a millimeter inside the fenders and I'm really feeling the fat tire look...)
Thanks to d.p (whose setup still looks WAY better than mine) and quatroownsyou for sharing their setups and alleviating concerns going into this...
p.s. just noticed that "I may NOT post attachments..." wtf?
