Throttle surges at high RPMs at times
Runs rough when i start it up in the morning, but goes away when i hit the gas a few times

hmmmm, could be a whole host of different things. Bad EGT sensor, bad MAF sensor, blown headgasket, etc...

    You gotta VAG it man.

By the car always needing water I can bet there is a coolant leak though, lol.

    Re: check engine light

JHM is the man. He decided to VAG my car for me. We left our school and on the way to his shop he said right off the bat that my car had a boost leak. Then my car would not go into second gear. There was a crap load of play in the shifter. Pulled it into the shop and he kept moving the shifter and then the linkage fell all of the way off. Popped the hood and found the MAF was unhooked, fixed that. Dropped the transmission and replaced the linkage and installed the bushing, did a boost test. Couple hundred bucks later it was all fixed. Shifter is much stiffer and now I can’t wait to buy one of his shifters. Road in a car with his shifter, chip and FMIC last night while I was waiting for my car to be finished, AMAZING. Huge difference with stock turbos’ and not much work done to it. I was shocked because my truck had a chip in it and there wasn’t much of a difference.
