I can get a set ordered from Avalon for about $800, but I thought that was a bit much. Guess not

I'd recommend you call Brian before you order.

He'll be able to to tell you the current price and availability of Valeo E-Codes in all forms (Single Xenon Black, Single Xenon Chrome (A4), Bi-Xenon) and he'll be able to tell you more about their exclusive blackout ecode replicas. My friend ordered the first set and I helped him install them. The quality is very nice. They use an H7 base, so your D1S bulbs will not fit, but he can sell you the blackout lamps AND a 55W HID kit for around the same price as a set of Valeo E-Codes (if ngng is right on his price estimate, then this would be less!).

Then, you could sell your old headlights and HID components and come out spending next to nothing for the upgrade.

What happened with the ECodes? I remember they were dirt cheap a few years back and now they are non existant?

If any of you want to take risks, I bought a set of B6 S4 Ecodes from the German eBay site back in 2004. I was the highest bidder with the guy having 1 feedback. The headlights came in two weeks after payment and included bulbs and ballasts in brand new condition for about $450 shipped.

Then the seller got banned from eBay two weeks later while negotiating a second pair for a friend of mine. Risky buisness.
