Just bought my first Audi, 99.5 A4 Pics!

This past weekend I traded my 87 Supra for a 1999.5 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic Sport Package. This will be my first Audi. I’m not sure what the exterior color is called but it’s almost Titanium like. Anyway its bone stock except for a head unit. Has 77k miles on the clock, new timing belt, tie rods, all new tires and brakes and control arms. I needed a more practical car for college so this should work and its so nice to drive. I have already debadged the trunk. Anyone here have any suggestions as for what to expect out of it? Ive got a serious issue with paying for labor and am a serious DIY'er; Ive read all the DIY articles, basic upgrading and modification stuff as well. One more question, I'm looking to lower the car and get some 18" BBS wheels, What springs and wheel offset would be the best? Id like for the wheels to be pretty flush but not have to roll my fenders. On to the pics...

Nice car and love the color after a good wash. To most people they would say you did one thing good and bought a 99.5 which to some is the best year. Why a TIP though. Anyway good DD if thats what you wanted it for.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to Audizine! 77k is some good sh*t with timing belt already done. As for your suspension, many will say you will never be satisfied with your ride height till you get coilovers. But Bilstein Struts and H&R Springs seems to be the most liked combo.

Fikes- I agree with 99.5 being the best year. I did a lot of research before going through with the trade. It is my daily driver and Tip was by no means my first choice. I had a 87 Toyota Supra Single Turbo 5-Speed putting down 368rwhp (430crank) and was selling that when I was offered the Audi as a trade. I needed something more practical for college so I just couldn't pass up the deal.

Seerlah- I would love to get coilovers but they just aren't in my price range right now. I had Bilsteins and Ebiachs on my Supra, and Id like for a little softer ride. Could I go with just H&R's on stock Sport struts?

I have stock sports suspension and the ride hide is ok for me. As for the springs, sport springs would grant you no less ride height when compared to stock sport springs. Only the ride might be bettter as going with names such a Nuespeed, Bilstein, and so forth. You could place race springs on sport struts, but I hear that the ride dampering will be terrible. As it will also wear on your struts quicker. But there are people whom have ridden on race springs on sport struts with years with no problems. Then there are others whom have thier struts sh*t the bed on them in a couple months. Aftermarket struts are recommended with race springs, but stock sports struts are def do-able. As for sport springs, it does not matter.
