ecu flash DOES NOT improve gas mileage

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
For some reason, after flashing my ecu my right foot keeps pressing down on the gas for no purposeful reason. I get less miles on a tank too. Also barely pressing on the gas gets the car moving to speed alot quicker.

I will contact the chip tuner later and complain.

I'm experiencing the same problem. With a better mix and better breathing with the new exhaust, I thought it would go up. Time to write a letter to the complaint department.

Re: ecu flash DOES NOT improve gas mileage

I've been struggling to get 20 mpg with my GIAC X chip. I switched it back to stock for a tank just to see what kind of mileage I get.

    Car sure is slow now...

your body eventually adjusts and gas mileage goes up. However, you should try your best not to part with the car for more then 3 days, otherwise it takes some more re-adjusting, and your mileage suffers again.

I sincerely apologize to all our clients who are having difficulty with lead feet. I think this warrants a new version of our ecu upgrade that comes with lighter shoes.

I only drive my car a couple days a week because I have a work car so it is always play time when I do. Guess its just nice to know I could have good MPG if I really wanted.

Or a "Right Foot Throttle Limiter", sold separately. Tell your design engineers at APR to invent one. It should look like a string with hooks on each end. One end hooks to your right shoe, the other end hooks to your scrotum (or nipples for females).

In the mean time, I found out that ear plugs and 10cc of anesthesia into your spine and neck actually help out with gas mileage even after an intake/exhaust mod and ECU upgrade.

haha! everyone needs to start demanding a free light-weight pair of shoes with each flash! speaking of driving shoes i just bought a pair of the adidas porsche's...they're f*cking awesome! (and yes, i definitely bought them mainly because they say "porsche" on the side. instead of a flame suit i'm just going to put my new shoes on)

    X2 on the speeding ticket.

Now I have to figure out what I am going to say to the judge. I know, I'll hold APR liable and subpeona them to help my case.

But officer, the m**er demands that I step on it, surely you understand???

Dude, it really changes the car - no imagining, the change is def there. The change is more dramatic than my previous 1.8T. I went chipless for a year so now I feel like I got a whole different car. If you have a shop nearby, DO IT.
