    BT Software Q

    Hi,

I'm currently moving around to complete the gtrs setup. Currently I'm looking for software for the turbo. I know a lot of you guys are running with REVO. I was thinking about switching from Giac (what I have now) to REVO. I'm on a budget, but have the money to afford the $700 for the REVO, but it hurts to loose $500 paid for the Giac a couple of years back.

Is it true that Giac doesn't have a file for the GTRS? I talked to my local Giac dealer and he told me that he has a file that will work. I just want to be sure about this, and use the correct file for my turbo application, and not some other file tweaked to run on my setup. (I'm asking this because the local guy that sells giac is a crazy man that just wants to get your money and move on, seriously lol)

The only thing GIAC would have is the GT28R file, it would work but wouldnt be ideal

i think thatif u have GIAC remove ur chip u are entitled to having another car flashed with no charge, so u could sell it for like $350 locally and you would've at least made some of it back, well at least APR allows that!

    Re: BT Software Q

Update: Talked to the local REVO dealer a couple of hours ago and looks like they got some problems with REVO and isn't selling it anymore . Is there any shop that any of you guys know that I could send my ecu and get the file there? Feel free to PM with some info or something. I don't know, maybe some one has a friend that has a friend who owns a shop or something, lol.

$890 for Unitronic is quite expensive, instead, REVO has been more time in the market and is quite reliable.

I would consider unitronic if the price would be in a cheaper margin. But, who knows?

    Re: BT Software Q

i was in the same boat having spent $500 for the original APR (got the second program free) and then another $200 for a reflash when i went K04. when i called them they told me my only option was to find someone with a matching ECU that wanted to trade then get the immoblizers reset, in other words, f-off. so all the rumors of APR/GIAC/ect allowing their software to be moved from one ECU to another is bull, why would they let you do that when they could sell another flash?

Go Revo, i am VERY VERY happy i did. Got mine done at Reflex Tuning in NH, i know they will flash your ECU if you pull it and mail it to them.

Btw, it's Unitronic, without the s... A little taste of your own bitter medicine. Anyway, there is no need to act like a total douchebag. I just linked him to a second alternative, how does that make it a bullshit post? Are you such a blind REVO fanboi?

Bitter LMAO. The quattro thing was a friendly joke. This > should have made that obvious.

And how am I the fanboi when all you did was come in outta left field and post a link to Unitronic when Carlitos was asking about revo.

    Re: BT Software Q

He wasn't just asking about REVO, he's looking for software, and switching to REVO was his first idea. So I just posted a second alternative. If he's not willing to pay the price, that's fine... Are we really going to argue semantics now?
