2.8 Engine Cover - Need help locating

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Came across this style of engine cover for the 2.8. According to the website i obtained the picture from, it is from a 2.8 A6. It has the look of the V8 4.2L engine cover, and i want one badly - anyone know where i can find one?

I tried searching the forums (AZ, AF, Fourtitude), ebay.com, ebay.de, google, audi online parts stores, but no luck. I'm thinking this is a euro cover, so maybe someone from across the pond could help?

Not a euro. I have one straight from the factory on my 2.8. Try ECS Tuning or some other parts vendor. It probably won't be as cheap as an eBay part, but they should at least have one.

Hmmm - maybe they came on later model 2.8s then? I've only seen them with the V6 at the front of the cover

    Want to sell yours? :)

Here is my current cover - you can see the difference between the two by the badge located at the front, and the Audi rings at the top

Oops! My fault. I have the same exact covers as you. Nice and clean engine bay you have there! That's my project this weekend.

Is that a K&N intake? How's the power and sound from that thing?

Re: 2.8 Engine Cover - Need help locating

^^ Power gain is minimal - i didn't notice anything gain-wise after the install, but the throttle felt a bit peppier (maybe a certain placebo effect involved with that). But there was definitely a noticable sound difference....nothing to brag about by any means, but there was a difference.

The only problem with the K&N 57i kit is the fact that the filter sits up so high, whereas, the e-bay kits include the piping that sticks the cone down into the fenderwell more where it belongs. I've been considering ditching this and going with an e-bay kit.

p.s. - when you do your engine bay, make sure you grab some Mother's Back-to-Black (if you haven't already). That stuff works great!

    Cool. Thanks man.

    I have Back-to-Black and I agree!

Let me know if you want to ditch the intake. I'll take it. I'm not into those chrome ones on eBay. I think I can make the K&N work anyway.
