As for the pic, the XTI is an excellent camera. Boost up the ISO next time when in gets this dark, or use flash with a softbox, like an AB800 or AB1600. But, that's like $500 or so. You shot this at ISO 100, which is really not sensitive enough for the lighting conditions. Bump it up to ISO 400. Also, you used F/14, that is a bit too slow for the lighting conditions as well. On a cropped camera, XTi/400D has a 1.6x conversion, you will start getting diffraction at above F/11 depending on the lens. F8 or F11, if you wanted the longer depth of field to have most of it in focus. F/5.6 would be faster, albeit your DOF would narrow, softening some of the scene a bit. I also take it that you used a tripod, since the shutter speed is at 25".

Yes, shoot in RAW if you have the capacity on your CF card. You can change more in post. Yes, it is a nice pic, nonetheless.

I used HDR but I only used two pics. I was going for a realistic look with it but just trying to bring out the colors some more.

i like the pic you posted alex but its a bit too surreal/colorful for what i was going for.
