    MAF questions...

I have a 2001 (old badge) 6spd, my bosch MAF is toast, want to put in hitachi, other than rewiring, will it be an issue that I'm running GIAC stage 1 software? can I just replace the bosch MAF with a hitachi MAF or will I have to reflashed with software from the 2001.5+ ECU? (my ECU is H-box I believe) My car was built in 6/00, so, according to this chart (which I'm not sure is completely accurate) http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Generations , my car should have a hitachi, but I checked the MAF out and it has the multicolored wires, as opposed to yellow. this means bosch right? God I'm just confusing the hell out of myself, if someone could just see past my noobery and shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate. Sorry for being so long winded, basically will my GIAC chip be an issue? thanks

    Re: MAF questions...

you will need to have it recoded for the MAF, YES.... you'll be converting to an M box with Hitachi MAF and 6 speed... My 2000 was an A box which most 2000's were with bosch MAFs unless you were auto but youre manual so thats whatsup!

    Re: MAF questions...

well nevermind, I'm an idiot I had a hitachi from the beginning, they both (bosch and hitachi) have multicolored wires, it depends on which of the 5 pins is empty, the 1st or the 5th, and i went out with a flashlight and realized that since the fifth pin is empty, then according to this chart http://s4wiki.com/wiki/MAF#Bosch_vs._Hitachi , it is in fact a hitachi after all
