    New paint...dull/hazy...?

I got my car painted, well only my front bumper and rear passenger side door due to someone backing into me. Well, i got my car back Saturday with a little disappointment. I saw the guy polishing my car with a rotary, yet with a wool type pad and Megs #80, and i think with that pad, he swirled some of my paint. So the next day i check out my paint and its extremely dull with orange peel and not shiny/wet like the rest of my cars panels...Should i get this guy to "fix" my door or go with someone else like a detailer. I polish/wax my own car, so I know my paint, and it looks like crap.
Will this just need a more extensive polish with the rotary or wet-sanding?

    Re: New paint...dull/hazy...?

Seems like the "guy" rushed his polishing process...if the polish isnt fully broken down, you may leave the paint dull and hazy. #80 isnt too harsh, but can be finished down to LSP(Last Step Process)if done right. Alot of dealers or painters, will half-ass it, just to get the car off their hands...

You say you polish and wax your car, do you do it by hand or machine?? If by machine, you should be able to fix it yourself. By hand, it can't be fixed...

Take it to a detailer, they do it for a living...if you take it back to the guy, i dont think he will do a better job, he should have done it right in the first place. just my .02!

Well im going to call him back and see what hell do, if he doesnt fix it this time. Im goin see if hell give me back some $$...
I work by machine, but i use a PC, not a rotary, but ill see what i can do, even though i dont have any super abrasive polishes.

Good deal...hopefully he will fix it, and fix it right...

If you have a pc, you can fix it, it will just take you alittle longer...with the right pad/polish combos, you should be good to go!

Goodluck let me know if you need any info!
