Yo traf, you should come down to some of the meets in the Valley some time. I want to see another Dolphin Grey! I might be setting up a canyon run this weekend if you'd like to join.

I like this question but to add to it, how many miles and what kind of problems have you encountered? Were they inevitable or human error that caused them?

    Re: Miles on your BT?

Started at 50,000 and now at 79,000 so 29,000 miles with the big turbo. My current "problem" is I burn some oil but that is due to revving so high all the time which wears the rings more. Another problem I had was I blew a tranny to smitherines. I snapped the shaft coming out of the tranny that goes into the engine and it caused a few gears to get chipped in the process. This is a rare occurance though (snapping that shaft) aka the prop shaft.

damn what a complainer! minor problem like that?

although i dont have bt, I would imagine a properly supported setup driven reasonable should last like anything else but if you half ass it and beat it to death, you might run into a few more problems...

werd. i'll be down either this week or the following. But i'm not sure how well i'll be repping Dolphin Grey since i busted my oetty and i'm using a temp bumper right now.

And as for the canyon run i'm 90% in and i'll bring a buddy with his new 2.0 TSI A3.

    Re: Miles on your BT?

Hey Ralph good to know your car is running like a beast. I have 67k total miles and 50k on my GTRS setup. Only issues have been the ATP manifold cracking. Second revision manifold still holding up just fine.

have you done a writeup and dyno for each and every setup? i would be interested in that if you haven't.
